Practical HIV Education. Meaningful Connections. Real-World Impact.

The American Conference for the Treatment of HIV® (ACTHIV®) brings together clinicians and care team members from across the country for practical, evidence-based education designed for the realities of frontline HIV care.

Led by faculty educators who actively care for people living with HIV, ACTHIV combines the latest clinical updates with case-based learning, interprofessional collaboration, and practical strategies you can apply immediately in practice.

Whether you’re an experienced HIV clinician or building HIV expertise, ACTHIV® is designed to help you deliver better HIV prevention and care – not simply more information.

Why Attend ACTHIV®?

A Conference Built for Frontline HIV Care

There are many outstanding HIV conferences, each with its own educational focus. ACTHIV® is designed around a simple question:

How can today’s evidence help clinicians and care teams provide better HIV care tomorrow?

Every educational session emphasizes practical application, helping clinicians and care team members translate evolving evidence into better patient care.

At ACTHIV®, you’ll:

The ACTHIV® Experience

Practical Learning. Genuine Connection.

This conference is an integral part of how I, along with other team members who attend, stay up to date and then come back and update our policies and processes.”  – ACTHIV 2026 Attendee

ACTHIV® is intentionally designed to feel different from larger scientific meetings. Faculty educators (who actively care for people with HIV) are approachable, discussions continue beyond the lecture hall, and participants learn from one another as well as from nationally recognized HIV experts.

Whether you’re attending for the first time or returning year after year, ACTHIV® offers more than educational sessions-it offers a professional community committed to strengthening the HIV care workforce.

Education Designed for Real-World Practice

The Learning Continues

At ACTHIV®, our goal extends beyond delivering education. We strive to help clinicians and care team members translate new evidence, practical insights, and shared experiences into meaningful improvements in HIV prevention and care.

That’s why the ACTHIV® learning experience continues before, during, and after the conference through opportunities to deepen learning, engage with faculty, and reinforce practical application.

Coffee with the Experts

Some of the best learning happens after the session ends.

Coffee with the Experts gives attendees the opportunity to continue the conversation with members of the ACTHIV® Conference Planning Committee in an informal, interactive setting. Ask follow-up questions, discuss real-world clinical challenges, explore practical applications of conference content, and connect with experienced HIV clinicians and fellow attendees.

To ensure all participants can take part, Coffee with the Experts is offered both onsite and through simultaneous virtual sessions designed specifically for virtual attendees.

Rewatch Conference Sessions

Learning doesn't end when the conference concludes.

All attendees receive three weeks of on-demand access to conference session recordings, making it easy to revisit key presentations, catch sessions you may have missed, and reinforce important clinical takeaways at your own pace.

Conference Takeaways for Practice

The conversation shouldn't end when you return home.

Approximately one month after the conference, ACTHIV® shares Conference Takeaways for Practice – a curated summary developed by members of the ACTHIV® Conference Planning Committee highlighting practical ideas inspired by the meeting that attendees may wish to adapt within their own practice or care team.

Designed to extend learning beyond the conference, these takeaways encourage reflection, support discussion with colleagues, and help attendees identify opportunities to strengthen patient care, enhance team-based practice, and apply conference insights in the real world.

Why Clinicians Return to ACTHIV®

ACTHIV® participants return year after year because the conference combines practical education with an engaged community of colleagues committed to improving HIV prevention and care.
