New Providers Track

Why Participate

The ACTHIV® Conference New Providers Track is thoughtfully crafted by an interprofessional subgroup of the conference planning committee, drawing expertise from the diverse planners to ensure a collaborative and enriching learning experience. New providers will have the unique opportunity to engage in small group settings that foster meaningful connections with seasoned HIV clinicians and fellow emerging professionals in the field. Participants will dive deep into critical concepts through face-to-face discussions and collaborative problem-solving exercises guided by the mentorship of experienced experts in HIV care, expanding their professional horizons and contributing to their growth in this crucial field. In addition to this immersive learning, attendees will enjoy rich networking opportunities with established clinicians and peers, allowing them to expand their professional horizons and forge lasting relationships within the HIV clinical community.

Objective

To offer a learning experience at ACTHIV® that supports providers who are in training or who are new to HIV medicine, including specialty and primary care physicians, NPs, PAs, nurses, pharmacists, and case managers who are new to HIV medicine or in training.

What to Expect

The program is structured to include regular meetings during lunch breaks and at the conclusion of the first two days. During these sessions, mentors will review key learnings and address any questions new providers may have regarding the day’s content. These mentors will support attendees not only in applying their new insights but also in identifying additional relevant learning opportunities, such as exploring informative posters. This collaborative environment encourages deeper engagement with conference topics through discussions of thoughtfully prepared cases that touch on essential subjects, including foundational HIV care concepts, management of treatment-naïve and treatment-experienced patients, diagnosis and management of HIV-related comorbidities, and HIV and STI prevention. To further reinforce these key learnings, we will introduce an interactive game at the end of the second day, ensuring that the educational experience is both enjoyable and memorable.
